April 13, 2023,

The General Assembly wrapped up its 2023 legislative session on Monday.  This was the first legislative session for newly elected Governor Moore and quite a few Delegates and Senators.  As the dust settles from the budget negotiations and the legislation that was passed, you have tto wonder what it means for your business.  Will there be additional regulations, new taxes or perhaps opportunities for new business?

The Chamber would like to provide some insight into the results of the 2023 legislative session. We are hosting a briefing from Compass Government Relations on April 25th at 8:30am to discuss the new legislation and regulations that were passed.  We will discuss the following topics:

·        State Budget for FY 2024

·        Governor Moore’s Legislative agenda

·        HR and Labor Law legislation including the minimum wage

·        Implementation of the recreational cannabis (how will this impact the workplace)

·        Status of the Family Medical Leave Payroll tax

You will be able to ask questions about these and other issues also network with fellow business owners who will be attending.  It is free for members to attend, and we will be providing light refreshments. Click Here for more details and to register.
